Girls Chorus

About the Girl’s Chorus

The Treasure Girls Chorus is a non-profit, non-denominational cultural youth organization that provides girls a chance to develop and enhance their musical skills, learn to work as part of a team, increase their self-esteem and share in the beauty and challenge of singing in unison, two and three part harmony.  The discipline and concentration required of members in rehearsal and performance reach far beyond musical expertise—their expression of self-confidence, self-esteem and scholastic achievement are demonstrable outgrowths of their chorus experience.

Membership in the Girls Chorus requires no special skills.  All girls must have an interest in music, an enjoyment of singing, a willingness to learn and a commitment to regular attendance.  Membership is open to all girls ages 8-16.

Endeavors from past years include singing in the chorus of Amahl and the Night Visitors  and community concerts.  As a community service organization, the girls also sing several times a year for area nursing homes, assisted living facilities and civic organization meetings.

As a member of the Treasure Girls Chorus, singers will be in a group of great girls who have fun working hard.  The music sung is some of the neatest ever written.  And that moment when the concert is ended and the audience is on their feet, that will be a moment of a lifetime shared with very special friends.

REHEARSALS

Weekly rehearsals are tentatively scheduled for Tuesdays beginning in September.  A final rehearsal date will be determined in consultation with all parents.  Additional rehearsals may be scheduled a few weeks prior to each concert.
