Our Mission
Through education and involvement in
the choral art form, the mission of the Treasure Choirs is
to cultivate members into singers and musicians who possess an awareness and
love of music and its craft. These goals will be achieved through mutual
respect, personal self-discipline and dedication, whole-hearted effort, and a commitment to excellence.
Our Philosophy
Any boy can sing, but not every boy
can sing well, and a boy who sings well is not necessarily a musician. Boys
enter the Boychoir as singers and leave as singers and musicians. Great
commitment is required of all members of the Treasure Boychoir. The
demands will be no less then an athletic team. But the rewards will be
great. The idea of team activity without competition will be an important
part of what will become a close knit group who, after rehearsal will play
baseball, hide-and-seek. tag, or another fun game. The goal is to build a
sense of camaraderie that is not based on winning or losing or being better than
another group, but rather on learning a variety of life skills. The skills each
boy will learn, the music he will make, the places he will go, and the people he
will meet will benefit him throughout his lifetime. Singing in the
Boychoir will bring experiences for a life time!
Parental Commitment
Parental support is an important part
of the Treasure Boychoir's success. Each parent becomes a member of the
Parent Committee when their son joins the choir. Parents are requested to
become involved in a variety of volunteer positions including chaperoning,
fundraising, uniforms, and clerical positions.
